Our stylist Rebecca has been shortlisted in the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards 2022 – and is now in the running for UK Hairdresser of the Year.
Rebecca Jacques, 26, who has been working with us since 2020, has been unveiled as one of just six hairdressers up for the Hairdresser of the Year for the Eastern region, for a second year in a row.
Rebecca said: “Being recognised in the British Hairdressing Awards is a massive buzz, I loved the experience last year and can’t wait to show my new collection this year. The fact Daniel and I can share this experience together this year is so exciting. I remember when he first suggested going for the award again this year, my mind was racing with ideas from the word ‘go’, and the concepts came together soon after.”
Daniel, owner of the salon and star of E4’s makeover programme Body Fixers, said: “The fact that we are finalists in these awards is a huge positive, not just for us but for Northampton, which has some of the best hairdressers in the UK. I encouraged Rebecca to apply again this year because of her creativity and her passion. I knew she’d get far – we have the same drive and we can speak about hair creatively.
“I’ve been a finalist myself four times. Rebecca is up for the second year as a finalist this year, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. That’s when it becomes a true honour – when you think about your team rather than yourself.”
Rebecca added: “Daniel and I met on one of his training courses, I went in with a fire in my belly and the two of us just clicked. He is very clear of my vision and where I want to take my career. Our creative similarities have allowed us to make some amazing work. Our new collection is called GRIP, and it really follows my vision well. It’s about the ever-evolving idea of missing out and really highlights the world we live in. There a lot of dark colours included, so you can’t help but be drawn in. It’s a special one for us both and we are so excited to share it with everyone.”
