Our very own Rebecca Jacques has proved herself a cut above the rest – scooping two UK hairdressing awards.

Rebecca Jacques, 25, has won the coveted ‘Up & Coming’ award at this year’s ‘The Big One’ ceremony in London, run by Trib-ute Hair and Beauty Magazine.

At the end of the evening Rebecca was then invited back on stage – where she was then presented with the top ‘The Big One’ award and commended by the judges for being one of the best, most creative and most committed stylists in the UK.

Rebecca said: “To be recognised as the UK’s top stylist in these leading awards is incredible and I’m still buzzing. Awards have historically been rather male dominated so for a young, blonde girl from a Northampton salon to win is particularly special. I’ve had so many messages of support, young girls in particular reaching out and telling me they have been inspired. If I can do it, they can – and I absolutely agree. Hard work and having the guts to put yourself out there can pay off.“

It’s been an incredible month for Rebecca. As well as winning these two awards she was a runner-up in both the British Hairdressing Awards and the UK’s ‘Most Wanted IT List’ awards, run by Creative Head magazine.

Daniel, owner of Daniel Granger Hairdressing and star of E4’s makeover programme Body Fixers, said: “Rebecca has done it and we are so proud. I knew she’d get far – we have the same drive and we speak about hair creatively and with passion. This is a huge honour – one the whole team and town of Northampton can celebrate.“

To celebrate Rebecca’s award wins, the salon has extended its opening hours for December, ensuring appointment slots are now available for award winning Rebecca.
